Kings Of Leon
The Early Vinyl

Listening notes

Kings of Leon's The Early Vinyl, released in 2011 through Music On Vinyl (catalog number MOVLP475), is a box set collecting material from the band's first three studio albums alongside supplementary recordings. Spanning four vinyl records, the set draws its primary content from Youth And Young Manhood, Aha Shake Heartbreak, and Because Of The Times, presenting their respective track sequences across sides A through L.

Beyond those album sides, the set extends into two additional categories of material. A section labeled Rarely contains studio recordings including alternate and session tracks: a second version of "California Waiting," "Molly's Hangover," "Head To Toe," "Woo Hoo," "My Third House," and an AOL Music Session recording of "On Call." A Live section follows, documenting six performances drawn from specific documented dates and venues. These include two tracks recorded December 11, 2003 at the O2 Academy Brixton in London, one from the Roskilde Festival in Roskilde, Denmark on July 3, 2004, two from AB Box in Brussels, Belgium on April 11, 2004, and one from the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee on June 12, 2004.

The set is catalogued under the genres Alternative Rock, Rock, and Southern Rock. With sides running from A through N across its four records, The Early Vinyl represents a substantial physical compilation of the band's early catalog in a single release. Human fact checkers should verify the specific pressing details, any edition variations, and whether the Rarely material had prior or subsequent release histories before this entry is finalized.
