Lamp Of Murmuur
The Burning Spears Of Crimson Agony

Listening notes

Lamp Of Murmuur is an act that has drawn considerable attention within underground black metal circles, and The Burning Spears Of Crimson Agony, released in 2020 on Black Gangrene Productions, stands as one entry in that catalog available on vinyl.

The release is categorized under black metal and rock, a pairing that at minimum signals something beyond strict genre orthodoxy, though the facts at hand do not permit a deeper characterization of what that combination means in practice here. What the tracklist does offer is a structural picture of the record. The vinyl is divided across two sides, with Side A opening on "A Burning Spear To The Heart Of Dawn (Part I)" before moving into "Meditating In The Poisonmists." Side B mirrors that architecture to a degree, leading with "A Burning Spear To The Heart Of Dawn (Part II)" and closing on "Eternally Banished To Agony." The decision to split a single titled piece across both sides of the record is worth noting as a deliberate formal choice, one that imposes a physical interruption at the midpoint of what is otherwise presented as a continuous work.

No catalog number is associated with this pressing, which is a detail that collectors and discographers may find relevant when attempting to identify or document specific editions.

Track durations are not available in the verified information for this entry, which limits what can be said about the overall runtime or the weight given to any individual piece.

This draft covers only what the available facts support. Personnel, pressing details, edition information, and any reception history have not been verified and are not included here. A fact checker should confirm all details before publication.
