Lazuli (2)
Le Fantastique Envol De Dieter Böhm

Listening notes

Lazuli (2) released Le Fantastique Envol De Dieter Böhm in 2020 on the label L'Abeille Rôde, catalogued as BZZ041VINYL. The album is categorized under Prog Rock, Rock, and Symphonic Rock.

The record's tracklist reveals a deliberate structural approach. Rather than a straightforward sequence of songs, the album is organized around a Prologue, four numbered acts, and an Epilogue, suggesting the work was conceived with a narrative or theatrical framework in mind. The musical content sits within these divisions across two sides of vinyl.

Side A opens with "Sol" at 4:27 under the Prologue heading, followed by Acte 1, which contains "Les Chansons Sont Des Bouteilles À La Mer" running 6:13 and "Mers Lacrymales" at 5:04. Acte 2 spans the remainder of Side A and the beginning of Side B, comprising the title-adjacent track "Dieter Böhm" at 5:33 and "Baume" at 3:31.

Side B continues with Acte 3, which holds "Un Visage Lunaire" at 4:15, before Acte 4 brings "L'envol" at 2:25 and "L'homme Volant" at 5:37. The album closes under the Epilogue heading with "Dans Les Mains De Dieter" at 5:37, a title that returns to the named figure at the center of the record's apparent concept.

The recurring references to Dieter Böhm across track titles and the album's own name, combined with the act-based sequencing, point to a concept record built around a specific character or subject. The total program spans nine individually timed tracks across the two sides, with the structural headings functioning as unmarked divisions rather than timed entries of their own.
