Madhouse Express
Surreal Meadow, Limited Edition 12" Vinyl

Listening notes

Madhouse Express released Surreal Meadow as a limited edition 12" vinyl in 2022 through no official label, meaning the release was self-managed or privately distributed outside of any commercial imprint. The absence of a catalog number and the not-on-label designation are consistent with an independent or small-run physical release.

The record collects ten tracks across a runtime that spans just under forty-four minutes in total. Genre tags associated with the release place it within psychedelic rock and rock more broadly. The tracklist opens with "Golden Flames" at five minutes and "The Crows" at just under five, before moving into two shorter pieces, "She Knows" and "Lullaby For Reality," each running under three minutes. "Dreamstorming" is the longest track on the first half of the sequence at six minutes, followed by the title track, "Surreal Meadow," at four minutes and thirty-six seconds. The back portion of the record includes "It's Getting Late," "Blind Caravan," and "Erwin The Spacedog," the last of which runs to four minutes and eleven seconds. The closing track, listed only as ".-.....-..", matches "Dreamstorming" at six minutes and stands out for its unconventional title, which appears to use a non-alphabetic character string rather than conventional text.

Whether the track sequence is divided across two sides, and how those sides are arranged, is not confirmed in the available data. No personnel, production credits, or pressing details are documented here.

For collectors and researchers, this release represents a not-on-label vinyl artifact from 2022 operating entirely outside standard distribution infrastructure. Further verification of pressing quantities, matrix information, and personnel would be necessary before any additional claims could be made with confidence.
