Madlib
The Beats - Our Vinyl Weighs A Ton OST

Listening notes

Madlib's The Beats - Our Vinyl Weighs A Ton OST was released by Stones Throw Records in 2014 under catalog number STH2344. The release is catalogued across the genres of Hip Hop, Instrumental, Soundtrack, and Stage & Screen, situating it within the broader context of music created for film or visual media.

The vinyl edition presents ten tracks across two sides. Side A contains five pieces, each titled simply as numbered cues — Cue 1 through Cue 5. Side B continues in the same fashion, running from Cue 6 through Cue 10. No individual track durations are documented in the available data. The straightforward, functional titling is consistent with conventional soundtrack practice, where music is composed and sequenced to serve a larger visual work rather than stand independently as named compositions.

The release connects Madlib to Stones Throw Records, the Los Angeles-based independent label with which he has had a longstanding relationship. The title references Our Vinyl Weighs A Ton, a documentary examining Stones Throw Records itself, and this release appears to serve as the accompanying soundtrack.

As a vinyl release, the record sits within the label's broader catalog and carries the STH2344 catalog designation. No track durations, personnel credits, or additional production information are available within the verified data provided here.

This entry should be reviewed to confirm the precise relationship between this release and the Our Vinyl Weighs A Ton documentary, and to determine whether additional credits, pressing details, or track timing information exist in primary sources before publication.
