Listening notes

Manos, Terrible Reality (30th Anniversary Vinyl), Not On Label, LP003, 2024.

Thirty years after its original release, Terrible Reality by Manos has returned as a vinyl reissue under the catalog number LP003, issued in 2024 on a not on label basis. The record is catalogued under the genres of death metal, thrash, and rock, and the format is standard vinyl.

The album spreads sixteen tracks across two sides. Side A opens with "From The Cradle To The Grave" at four minutes and five seconds, the longest cut on that side, and moves through "Metal Attack," "Suicidal Confusion," and the brief "Hell-Phantom" at one minute and twenty-six seconds. The side continues with "We Mosh," the title track "Terrible Reality," "Insidious Attack," and closes with the short "Blutige Luscht" at one minute and thirty-three seconds. Two tracks on Side A carry German-language titles, a detail that may be of interest to researchers tracing the band's background.

Side B opens with "Voice Of Satan," which at four minutes and fifty-two seconds is the single longest track on the record. It is followed by "Acid War," then "Ulehule," the briefest entry on the album at forty-nine seconds. The side continues through "Dirty Vision," "Fuck Yourself," "Hypocritical World," the short "Ballade Von Den Sechsen," and closes with "Evasion" at one minute and fifty seconds. A second German-language title appears here in "Ballade Von Den Sechsen."

In total the record presents a program of roughly fifty-one minutes across its sixteen tracks, with individual track lengths ranging from under a minute to just under five minutes. The self-released nature of the reissue and its anniversary framing are the primary documented facts available at this stage.
