Marduk
Frontschwein

Listening notes

Marduk's Frontschwein arrives on vinyl through Osmose Productions under catalog number OPLP418, issued in 2022. The release is classified under black metal and rock, and spreads eleven tracks across two sides of a standard LP configuration.

Side A carries six tracks: the title track opens the record, followed by "The Blond Beast," "Afrika," "Wartheland," "Rope Of Regret," and "Between The Wolf-Packs." Side B runs five tracks, beginning with "Nebelwerfer" and continuing through "Falaise: Cauldron Of Blood," "Doomsday Elite," "503," and "Thousand-Fold Death." Track durations are not available for this pressing.

The tracklist reflects Marduk's longstanding engagement with Second World War subject matter, a thematic thread that runs visibly through titles such as "Wartheland," "Nebelwerfer," and "Falaise: Cauldron Of Blood." Wartheland refers to a Nazi-designated administrative region in occupied Poland, Nebelwerfer to a German rocket launcher used during the conflict, and Falaise to the 1944 battle in Normandy. Whether these titles are treated with critique, documentary interest, or straightforward fixation is a question the titles alone cannot answer, and collectors approaching this record should be aware that Marduk's war-themed content has been a source of ongoing debate within and outside the metal community.

Osmose Productions is a French label with a long history of releasing black metal on vinyl, and this pressing carries their standard catalog numbering system. Beyond the label, format, and tracklist, the available documentation for this specific pressing does not extend to personnel, matrix information, color variants, or pressing quantities. Collectors seeking those details should consult label or distributor sources directly before making decisions based on this entry alone.

This is an unreviewed draft. All details should be verified against primary sources before publication.
