Metallica
...And Justice For All

Listening notes

Metallica's ...And Justice For All appears here in a 2018 vinyl pressing issued on the band's own Blackened label, carrying catalog number BLCKND007R-1. The release is categorized under heavy metal, rock, and thrash.

The album's nine tracks are spread across four sides of vinyl, a configuration that accommodates the considerable running time accumulated by songs of substantial individual length. Side A opens with "Blackened" at six minutes and forty-two seconds, followed by the title track, which runs nine minutes and forty-five seconds. Side B carries "Eye of the Beholder" at six minutes and twenty-six seconds and "One" at seven minutes and twenty-three seconds. Side C holds three tracks: "The Shortest Straw" at six minutes and thirty-five seconds, "Harvester of Sorrow" at five minutes and forty-five seconds, and "The Frayed Ends of Sanity" at seven minutes and forty-one seconds. Side D closes the record with "To Live Is to Die," the longest track at nine minutes and forty-eight seconds, and "Dyers Eve" at five minutes and thirteen seconds.

The total combined duration of the nine tracks, calculated from the listed times, comes to approximately sixty-five minutes and eighteen seconds. The double-LP format is a practical necessity given that figure, as fitting the material onto fewer sides would require compromises in how the program is divided.

This pressing represents Metallica's control over their own catalog through the Blackened imprint, which the band has used to manage physical releases. Beyond the details confirmed above — label, catalog number, format, year, genre classifications, track titles, and durations — this draft does not speculate on matters such as mastering, pressing plant, or collector interest. Those details should be confirmed through additional sourcing before publication.
