Misfits
Twilight Of The Dead

Listening notes

Released in 2011 on Misfits Records, "Twilight Of The Dead" is a two-track vinyl single from the Misfits, issued under the label's catalog number MRLP 01470. The record arrives in the format most closely associated with the band's earliest output, presenting two original songs across its two sides.

The A-side, "Twilight Of The Dead," runs two minutes and thirty-four seconds. Flipping the record reveals "Land Of The Dead" on the B-side, clocking in at two minutes and thirteen seconds. Together, the two tracks amount to just under five minutes of material — a runtime consistent with the short, concentrated format of the classic punk single.

Both the label, Misfits Records, and the catalog number situate this release within the band's own imprint infrastructure, indicating the release was handled in-house rather than through a third-party label arrangement. The genres on record are listed as Punk and Rock, which aligns with the band's long-established musical territory.

The Misfits, formed in New Jersey in 1977, are one of the more recognizable names in American punk, known in particular for horror-themed lyrical content. The titles of both tracks on this single — "Twilight Of The Dead" and "Land Of The Dead" — are consistent with that thematic tradition, though any specific interpretation of the songs' content goes beyond what can be confirmed here.

As a vinyl single from 2011, this release falls well into the period of the band's later lineup, distinct from the classic era associated with Glenn Danzig's tenure as vocalist. Beyond that, the verified facts on hand do not support claims about personnel, pressing details, or the record's standing among collectors.
