Mutilator (2)
Evil Conspiracy - Demos And Rehearsals 1986

Listening notes

Released in 2016 on F.O.A.D. Records (catalog number F.O.A.D. 103), Evil Conspiracy – Demos And Rehearsals 1986 is a compilation documenting archival material from Mutilator, a Brazilian act working within death metal, thrash, and rock during the mid-1980s. The release is available across vinyl, CD, and combined formats.

The vinyl portion draws from two distinct 1986 sources. Side A opens with four tracks attributed to the "Grave Desecration" and "Blood Storm" demos: "Visions Of Darkness," "Evil Conspiracy," "Mutilator," and "Blood Storm." The remaining two positions on Side A — "Lust And Blood" and a second version of "Mutilator" — are drawn from a 1986 rehearsal, which continues across all of Side B with seven further titles including "Nuclear Holocaust," "Massacra," "War Dogs," and "Raise The Dead / Outro."

The CD component substantially expands the package by adding three separate live sets, all dated to 1986. A performance recorded at Festival Da Morte in Belo Horizonte on August 16 contributes seven tracks. A second set, recorded at Carioca Club in Rio de Janeiro on September 29, provides six more. A third live document, from the Slaughter Festival in Americana on September 20, rounds out the CD with six additional titles. Titles such as "Believers Of Hell," "Evil Conspiracy," "Massacra," and "Mutilator" appear across multiple sources throughout the release, allowing for direct comparison between rehearsal and live contexts within the same package.

The result is a multi-source archival document spanning demos, rehearsal recordings, and three geographically distinct live performances, all contained within a single 1986-focused release issued three decades after the source material was captured.
