My Sleeping Karma
Mela Ananda (Live)

Listening notes

My Sleeping Karma's Mela Ananda (Live), released in 2017 on Napalm Records (catalog number NPR 702 Vinyl), is a multi-format package spanning vinyl, DVD, and all media configurations. Catalogued under psychedelic rock and rock, the release spreads ten live tracks across four vinyl sides and pairs them with two DVD components that together account for just over seventy-three minutes of video material.

The vinyl portion runs to a considerable length. Side A opens with "Prithvi" at 6:43, followed by "23 Enigma" at 6:49 and "Glow11" at 7:46. Side B carries "Ephedra" (6:42), "Vayu" (5:07), and "Akasha" (6:44). Side C is the heaviest in terms of individual track duration, holding "Brahama" at 8:12 and "Psilocybe" at 8:24. Side D closes the vinyl program with "Tamas" (5:46) and "Hymn72" (6:35). Across all four sides, the shortest track runs just over five minutes and the longest just over eight, pointing to a program built around extended, unhurried material consistent with the psychedelic rock genre designation.

The DVD component adds a distinct documentary dimension. The first DVD title, "My Sleeping Karma 'Let's Give It a Try' (Video Documentation 10 Years MSK)," runs 31:44 and its title suggests a connection to the band's ten-year anniversary. The second, "My Sleeping Karma at Rockpalast (28.03.2010 – Köln Underground)," is dated to a specific performance on March 28, 2010, at the Köln Underground venue and runs 42:02. The Rockpalast context is notable, as that long-running German broadcast program has documented live performances across decades.

Collectors considering this release should confirm the specific vinyl color variants, pressing quantities, and any regional differences independently, as those details fall outside what can be verified here.
