Rekordbox Dual Control Vinyl / Vinyle de Controle Clear Set

Listening notes

Pioneer DJ's RB-VD1-cl is a clear control vinyl set released under the Rekordbox Dual Control Vinyl line, catalogued as a non-music, technical release. The product is manufactured by Pioneer DJ and carries the catalog number RB-VD1-cl. No release year is confirmed in available documentation.

The format is standard vinyl, and the release consists of two sides. Side A contains a timecode signal running for ten minutes, while Side B contains a timecode signal running for fifteen minutes. No additional tracks or content beyond these two timecode sides is documented.

As a technical product rather than a music release, this vinyl falls outside conventional album categorization. Its function is tied to digital vinyl systems, specifically the Rekordbox software ecosystem developed by Pioneer DJ. Control vinyl of this type is designed to allow a turntable to interface with DJ software, using the timecode signal pressed into the record to translate physical playback into digital control. The clear variant is distinguished from standard pressings by its transparent appearance, as indicated by the "cl" suffix in the catalog number and the word "clear" in the full title.

Because no release year has been confirmed, no timeline claims can be made regarding when this product entered the market or how it relates to other Rekordbox control vinyl releases. The set designation in the title suggests this item is sold as a pair rather than a single disc, though individual disc count is not explicitly confirmed in the available documentation.
