Serato Official Control Vinyl - Performance Series

Listening notes

Released in 2018 on Serato Pressings, the Serato Official Control Vinyl - Performance Series (catalog number 10CV02.5) is a two-record set catalogued under the genre designation "Non-Music." The release carries no credited artist, reflecting its purely functional nature as a tool rather than a conventional musical offering.

Each of the four sides contains a single track titled "Serato Control Tone Cv2.5." The A-sides of both records run seven minutes each, while the B-sides extend to ten minutes each, giving the set a total runtime of thirty-four minutes across its four sides. The consistent track title across all four sides, differing only in their timed length, points to the repetitive and utility-driven character of the content.

The catalog number 10CV02.5 references the control vinyl version designation Cv2.5, which is echoed in the track titles themselves. The "Performance Series" designation appears in the release title, distinguishing it within Serato's lineup of control vinyl products.

As a product catalogued under "Non-Music," this release sits outside the typical parameters of records reviewed for artistic content, songwriting, or performance. Its inclusion in vinyl databases and record catalogues is more accurately understood through the lens of equipment documentation than music collecting in the conventional sense. For researchers, archivists, or collectors building comprehensive catalogs of DJ-related hardware and software peripherals, this entry provides a clear and documented reference point.

The release was pressed on the vinyl format and issued under the Serato Pressings imprint, the label associated with Serato's own manufactured products. Nothing beyond the verified catalog data has been confirmed for this draft, and all additional claims should be established independently before publication.
