Traktor Scratch Control Vinyl MK2 Blue

Listening notes

Released by Native Instruments in 2014, the Traktor Scratch Control Vinyl MK2 Blue (catalog number NI-21807) is a technical vinyl release designed for use with DJ software rather than conventional music playback. It is catalogued under the genres Non-Music and Technical, which accurately reflects its functional rather than artistic purpose.

The record is a standard vinyl format pressing. Its two sides are labeled "Other Side," running twelve minutes, and "This Side," running seventeen minutes, giving the disc a total documented runtime of twenty-nine minutes across both sides. The asymmetry between the two sides is notable in the tracklist: the A side contains eleven untitled tracks, while the B side contains sixteen, for a combined twenty-seven untitled entries. Individual track durations are not listed for any of these entries.

The absence of credited artists, composers, or performers is consistent with the release's classification as a non-music technical product. No personnel information appears in the verified data, and none has been added here. Similarly, no information about the signal format encoded in the grooves, the intended software compatibility, or packaging details can be confirmed from the available facts.

For cataloguing purposes on a vinyl reference site, this release occupies a distinct category from conventional music pressings. Its tracklist structure, with a large number of untitled segments distributed unevenly across two sides of differing lengths, reflects the conventions of control vinyl releases as a product type rather than an artistic sequence. Researchers and cataloguers documenting Native Instruments hardware accessories may find this entry useful as a dated reference point within the MK2 line, though no further claims about the broader product line are made here.
