Pearl Jam
2002 Annual Vinyl Single

Listening notes

Pearl Jam's 2002 Annual Vinyl Single, released on Epic Records with catalog number ES7 58540, presents two tracks that sit at an intriguing intersection of the band's identity and seasonal subject matter. The A-side, "Don't Believe In Christmas," and the B-side, "Sleepless Nights," make up the complete contents of this vinyl release.

The single carries genre designations spanning Alternative Rock, Classic Rock, Grunge, Holiday, and Rock, a range that reflects the dual nature of the release — a holiday-themed record from a band whose catalog is otherwise rooted in the harder edges of early 1990s rock. The Holiday classification is a notable distinction within Pearl Jam's discography, given how rarely the band's output is categorized in that way.

The "Annual" designation in the title suggests this was part of a recurring or intentional series, though the specifics of that context are not captured in the available catalog data. What the record does confirm is that Pearl Jam continued to issue vinyl during a period when the format had contracted significantly in mainstream commercial release schedules, with Epic facilitating this particular single's physical release.

No track durations are listed in the available data, and no additional personnel, production, or recording details are confirmed here. Readers and collectors seeking deeper technical documentation — including pressing information, matrix etchings, or session credits — should consult primary sources or physical inspection of the release itself.

As cataloged, this is a standard-format vinyl single issued under one of the major label homes Pearl Jam maintained during the early 2000s. Its combination of holiday theming and the band's established genre associations makes it a distinct entry worth noting for anyone building a comprehensive Pearl Jam discography.
