Powerwolf
Best Of The Blessed

Listening notes

Powerwolf's Best Of The Blessed, released on Napalm Records in 2020 under catalog number NPR 919 VINYL, collects sixteen tracks from the German power metal band across a four-sided vinyl release. Catalogued under heavy metal, power metal, and rock, the compilation spreads its selections evenly across four sides, with four tracks occupying each of the A, B, C, and D sides.

The tracklist draws on titles that longtime followers of the band will recognize across their catalog. Side A opens with "We Drink Your Blood" and moves through "Army Of The Night," "Demons Are A Girl's Best Friend," and "Werewolves Of Armenia." Side B carries "Saturday Satan," "Amen & Attack," "Where The Wild Wolves Have Gone," and "Resurrection By Erection." Side C presents "Sanctified With Dynamite," "Kreuzfeuer," "Armata Strigoi," and "Kiss Of The Cobra King," while Side D closes the set with "Killers With The Cross," "Sacred & Wild," "In Blood We Trust," and "Let There Be Night."

The four-side format is a practical consequence of fitting sixteen tracks onto vinyl, and the even distribution across sides suggests deliberate sequencing decisions, though the nature of those decisions is not documented in the available information. Track durations are not listed in the source data for this release.

For collectors and listeners approaching this release, it represents a Napalm Records-issued vinyl document of Powerwolf's recorded output as the label chose to represent it through 2020. Whether this compilation functions as a definitive survey or a selective snapshot is a question the available facts cannot answer. What the catalog number, label, format, and tracklist confirm is a sixteen-track, double-LP compilation released in 2020 under a label that has been Powerwolf's home for a significant portion of their recording career.
