Pur
Pur Vinyl-Box Volume 2 (1990 - 1998)

Listening notes

Released in 2025 on Polydor (catalog number 7854411), Pur Vinyl-Box Volume 2 (1990 – 1998) is a five-album vinyl box set collecting material from the German pop and rock group Pur spanning eight years of their catalog. The set is classified under the genres of pop, pop rock, and rock.

The box brings together five albums in sequence: Unendlich Mehr (1990), Nichts Ohne Grund (1991), Seiltänzertraum (1993), Abenteuerland (1995), and Mächtig Viel Theater (1998). The records are pressed across sides A through N, with content distributed across what the tracklist designates as thirteen lettered sides carrying individual track listings and one additional side. Individual track durations are provided for the majority of entries, ranging from brief interludes — such as "Kowalski IV" at forty seconds and "Kowalski 6" at thirty-four seconds — to longer pieces including "Ich Will Raus Hier" at six minutes and thirty-nine seconds and "Abenteuerland" at six minutes and twenty-one seconds.

The tracklist includes several recurring "Kowalski" entries across the represented albums — numbered II, III, IV, V, and 6 — suggesting an ongoing series of short pieces across Pur's output during this period. The 1995 Abenteuerland portion of the set also includes English-language alternate versions of two tracks: "Never-Neverland (Abenteuerland)" and "I Love You (Ich Lieb' Dich)," as well as an instrumental, "Merlins Reise." The 1998 Mächtig Viel Theater portion similarly contains an instrumental, "Merlin's Pummelflug," at forty-seven seconds, and closes with an orchestral version of "Geweint Vor Glück," a track that also appears on the 1991 Nichts Ohne Grund portion of the set.
