Queen
Jazz

Listening notes

Queen's Jazz, released in 1978 on Elektra Records (catalog number 6E-170), is a thirteen-track vinyl album spanning hard rock, pop rock, and rock. The record divides its program across two sides, with six tracks on the A side and seven on the B side.

The A side opens with "Mustapha" and moves through "Fat Bottomed Girls," "Jealousy," "Bicycle Race," and "If You Can't Beat Them" before closing on "Let Me Entertain You." The sequencing places some of the album's more immediately recognizable titles — "Fat Bottomed Girls" and "Bicycle Race" — in the early portion of the first side, while "Let Me Entertain You" rounds out that half of the record.

The B side carries a slightly heavier tracklist by count, beginning with "Dead On Time" and continuing through "In Only Seven Days," "Dreamers Ball," "Fun It," and "Leaving Home Ain't Easy." "Don't Stop Me Now" appears at position B6, followed by the closing track "More Of That Jazz" at B7, which shares a fragment of its title with the album itself.

The genre classifications assigned to Jazz — hard rock, pop rock, and rock — reflect the range of material distributed across the two sides, though the tracklist alone does not permit conclusions about how individual songs align with those designations.

This pressing was issued in the United States through Elektra, and the catalog number 6E-170 identifies it within that label's numbering system for the period. Collectors and researchers working from this edition should verify any additional details — including matrix information, insert contents, or label variation — against a physical copy, as those specifics are outside the scope of what the verified record data here can confirm.
