Rainbow
Finyl Vinyl

Listening notes

Released in 1986 on Polydor (catalog number 827 987-1), Finyl Vinyl is a vinyl compilation by Rainbow spanning two discs and four sides. Falling under the hard rock and rock genres, the set collects fourteen tracks drawn from across the band's catalog, sequenced across sides A through D.

Side A opens with "Spotlight Kid" at five minutes before moving to "I Surrender" at five minutes and forty-five seconds, then "Miss Mistreated" at three minutes and twenty-one seconds. Side B carries five tracks: "Jealous Lover," "Can't Happen Here," "Tearin' Out My Heart," "Since You Been Gone," and "Bad Girl," with "Tearin' Out My Heart" running to eight minutes and four seconds, the longest entry on that side.

Side C is anchored by "Difficult To Cure," which runs eleven minutes and fifteen seconds, making it the lengthiest track across the entire release. It is followed by "Stone Cold" and "Power." Side D closes the set with "Man On The Silver Mountain" at eight minutes and twenty seconds, "Long Live Rock 'n' Roll" at seven minutes and twelve seconds, and "Weiss Heim" at five minutes and ten seconds.

The total runtime is substantial for a two-disc vinyl package, with several tracks exceeding four minutes and multiple entries pushing past the seven- and eight-minute marks. The inclusion of extended running times on individual tracks accounts for much of that length across all four sides.

Finyl Vinyl is identified by catalog number 827 987-1 and was issued through Polydor. Researchers and collectors seeking this release should verify specific pressing details independently, as edition-level information falls outside what is confirmed here.
