Rainbow
Finyl Vinyl

Listening notes

Rainbow's *Finyl Vinyl* was released in 1986 on Mercury Records under catalog number 422-827 987-4 M-1. This particular edition was issued on cassette and falls within the hard rock and rock genres. The title itself, a play on the word "vinyl," carries an irony worth noting given that this format under review is a cassette rather than a vinyl pressing.

The compilation spans fifteen tracks across two sides, with nine selections on Side A and six on Side B. Side A opens with "Spotlight Kid" and moves through "I Surrender," "Miss Mistreated," "Street Of Dreams," "Jealous Lover," "Can't Happen Here," "Tearin' Out My Heart," "Since You Been Gone," and "Bad Girl." Side B begins with "Difficult To Cure" and continues with "Stone Cold," "Power," "Man On The Silver Mountain," "Long Live Rock 'N' Roll," and closes with "Weiss Heim."

The track sequence suggests an effort to represent material from across the band's catalog, as titles such as "Man On The Silver Mountain" and "Long Live Rock 'N' Roll" are associated with earlier periods of the group, while others such as "Stone Cold" and "Street Of Dreams" are associated with later work. No track durations are documented in the available data for this release.

This cassette edition represents one format configuration of *Finyl Vinyl* as it existed in the marketplace in 1986. Collectors and researchers working with Rainbow's discography should note the specific catalog number when distinguishing this release from other format editions that may have appeared under the same title. No further claims about personnel, recording origins, or pressing details can be supported by the available documentation.
