Rainbow
Finyl Vinyl

Listening notes

Rainbow's Finyl Vinyl, released on Polydor (catalog number 547 368-2), is a two-disc CD compilation drawing from the band's catalog across the hard rock and rock genres. The set spans fifteen tracks spread across its two discs, offering a broad cross-section of the group's recorded output.

Disc one opens with "Spotlight Kid" at just over six minutes and moves through a sequence that includes "I Surrender," "Miss Mistreated," "Street of Dreams," and "Jealous Lover" before closing out with "Bad Girl." The disc also features "Since You Been Gone" and "Can't Happen Here," with the extended "Tearin' Out My Heart" running to just over eight minutes serving as one of the longer entries on the first half.

Disc two shifts the pacing considerably. It opens with "Difficult to Cure (Beethoven's Ninth)," which at 11 minutes and 13 seconds is the single longest track on the compilation. "Man on the Silver Mountain" and "Long Live Rock 'N' Roll" each extend past seven minutes, giving the second disc a noticeably more expansive feel in terms of runtime. "Stone Cold," "Power," and "Weiss Heim" round out the set.

In total, the compilation presents material running well past two hours when the track durations are summed across both discs, making it a substantial collection by any measure. The title itself, Finyl Vinyl, plays on the word "final" alongside a nod to vinyl as a medium, though this release is a CD format pressing.

The release carries no verified year of issue in available documentation and should be confirmed before publication. Likewise, no verified personnel, recording context, or chart information has been confirmed for this specific compilation, and those details have been omitted from this draft accordingly.
