Rainbow
Finyl Vinyl

Listening notes

Released in 1986 on PolyGram (catalog number 827 987-1), Finyl Vinyl is a vinyl compilation from Rainbow presented across a double-album format spanning four sides. The release falls under the hard rock and rock genres.

The fourteen tracks are distributed across four sides, with Side A and Side B each carrying four and five tracks respectively, and Sides C and D each holding three tracks. Side A opens with "Spotlight Kid" at five minutes, followed by "I Surrender" at five minutes and forty-five seconds, and "Miss Mistreated" at three minutes and twenty-one seconds. Side B begins with "Jealous Lover," moves through "Can't Happen Here" and the extended "Tearin' Out My Heart" at eight minutes and four seconds, and closes with "Since You Been Gone" and "Bad Girl."

Side C is anchored by "Difficult To Cure," which at eleven minutes and fifteen seconds is the longest track on the release, followed by "Stone Cold" and "Power." Side D leads with "Man On The Silver Mountain" at eight minutes and twenty seconds and "Long Live Rock 'n' Roll" at seven minutes and twelve seconds, closing with "Weiss Heim" at five minutes and ten seconds.

Taken together, the runtime across the four sides is substantial, with several tracks exceeding seven or eight minutes. The sequencing places the two lengthiest individual tracks — "Difficult To Cure" and "Man On The Silver Mountain" — as openers on their respective sides.

As a vinyl artifact issued under PolyGram in 1986, Finyl Vinyl represents a formally structured multi-disc compilation drawing from Rainbow's catalog across the hard rock genre. Collectors and researchers should verify all additional historical and contextual details independently, as this draft reflects only the confirmed release data above.
