Randy And The Randies
12" Vinyl LP

Listening notes

Randy And The Randies self-released this 12-inch vinyl LP on their own Randiful Music imprint in 2017, catalogued as catalog number 001. The record draws from at least three distinct source materials, each identified by header titles embedded in the tracklist rather than conventional side and track numbering alone.

Side A opens with material designated "Live At Urban Noize Club 7/17/80," comprising "Bloating" at 2:37 and "Solar Myth" at 2:08. The remaining four tracks on Side A fall under the header "1980 - 1982" and include "Tangled Nico" (1:42), "Big Blue Blade Car" (2:03), "Snowmen" (2:23), and "Bird Of Another Tree" (3:00). Side B is divided across two sections. The first, headed "Beauty Soundtrack 1982," contains five tracks: "Jenny North" (1:05), "Desolation's Child" (2:46), "Some Thing" (3:16), "Ediesong" (4:01), and "Seraphine" (3:48). The final track, "Burned By Sugar" (1:41), appears under the header "Jennifer Lobianco 1980."

The tracklist headers suggest the release functions as a compilation of recordings made across different contexts and dates in the early 1980s, including at least one live recording, material spanning 1980 to 1982, what appears to be soundtrack work, and a session or source identified with an individual name. Track durations across both sides tend toward brevity, with most falling under three minutes and only "Ediesong" and "Seraphine" exceeding that mark.

The genres listed for the release are Art Rock, Indie Rock, Post-Punk, and Rock. Catalog number 001 on Randiful Music suggests this was the imprint's first release. No additional label information or personnel credits are available in the verified data.
