Ripcordz
The Vinyl Countdown

Listening notes

The Ripcordz released The Vinyl Countdown on En Guard Records in 2017 under catalog number STMP139. The release was issued in both vinyl and CD formats and is categorized under punk and rock.

The vinyl component is a double LP, organized across four sides. Track positions are numbered in descending order, running from A33 down to D01, a sequencing choice that gives the album its countdown conceit and accounts for the title. Side A opens at position 33 with "X" and runs through eight tracks to "Punk Rock'll Change The World" at position 26. Side B continues from position 25 with "The Fence" through to "DWY" at position 18. Side C covers positions 17 through 9, beginning with "Riot" and closing with "Pizza Girls From Hell." Side D completes the vinyl countdown from position 8 with "New Song" down to position 1, "Anarchy." A track listed as "War On Christmas" appears in the tracklist without an assigned side or position designation.

The included CD carries a separate program of ten tracks, all carrying holiday-themed titles: "Merry Crisis," "War On Xmas," "The Night The Reindeer Died," "Ho Ho Ho," "Don't Fuck With Santa Claus," "All I Want For Christmas," "Reindeer Pie," "Santa Claus Slasher," "Do You Believe?," and "Auld Lang Syne." No durations are listed for any of the CD tracks in available documentation.

The vinyl tracklist comprises 33 titled positions across its four sides, with individual track durations ranging from 48 seconds for "Countdown" to 3 minutes and 56 seconds for "21st Century." The combined format makes this a notably substantial release by track count alone.
