Satanic Warmaster / Archgoat
Lux Satanae (Thirteen Hymns Of Finnish Devil Worship)

Listening notes

Hells Headbangers released this split vinyl in 2016 under catalog number HELLS MLP 037, pairing two Finnish acts — Satanic Warmaster and Archgoat — on a release subtitled Lux Satanae (Thirteen Hymns Of Finnish Devil Worship). The subtitle is precise: the tracklist accounts for exactly thirteen titles spread across two sides, framing the pairing as a deliberate statement of national and thematic identity within the black and death metal traditions.

Side A carries four Satanic Warmaster tracks: "Black Destiny," "Wolves Of Blood And Iron," "Satanic Winter," and "My Kingdom Of Darkness." Side B belongs to Archgoat, running nine tracks — "Jesus Spawn," "Death & Necromancy," "Penis Perversor," "Angelcunt," "Satanic Oath," "Soulflay," "Black Messiah," "Thrice Damned Sodomizer (Streams Of Blood)," and "Rise Of The Blackmoon." The asymmetry in track count between the two sides is notable, with Archgoat occupying the longer sequence.

Both bands are established presences in the Finnish extreme metal underground, and Hells Headbangers, the American label handling this release, has maintained a consistent catalog focus on raw and underground black and death metal. The genres listed for this release — black metal, death metal, and rock — reflect a broad cataloging convention rather than any blurring of the music's aggressive character.

Track durations are not documented in the available data, so the total runtime of the record cannot be confirmed here. Collectors and researchers seeking pressing details, matrix information, or edition-specific variants should consult primary sources, as those specifics fall outside what can be verified from the information at hand.
