Satanic Warmaster
Fimbulwinter

Listening notes

Satanic Warmaster's *Fimbulwinter* was released on vinyl in 2015 through Werewolf Records, carrying the catalog number EVIL-666. The record is categorized under black metal and rock, and spreads its seven tracks across two sides of a standard LP configuration.

Side A opens with "Fimbulwinter's Spell" at five minutes and one second, followed by "Funeral Wolves" at five minutes and twenty-nine seconds. The third track, "Korppi," runs six minutes and twenty seconds, and the side closes with "When Thunders Hail" at an even five minutes. Side B opens with "Dragon's Egg," the longest track on Side A's counterpart at six minutes and fifty-seven seconds, and continues with "Nuin-Gaer-Faun" at seven minutes and fifteen seconds. The final track, "Winter's Hunger," runs seven minutes and fourteen seconds, bringing the total runtime across both sides to approximately forty-nine minutes and thirty-six seconds.

The tracklist itself reflects a structural pattern worth noting: Side A is composed of four relatively compact tracks, while Side B carries only three, each running considerably longer than any of the four on the opposite side. The album's title and several of its track names draw from Norse mythological tradition — Fimbulwinter referring to the great winter said to precede Ragnarök in Norse cosmology, and the crow implied by the Finnish word "Korppi" carrying associations with Norse and broader Northern European symbolic traditions.

*Fimbulwinter* appears in Werewolf Records' catalog, a label associated with Finnish black metal. Beyond what the available data confirms, further details regarding personnel, pressings, or production remain outside the scope of this entry and should be verified independently before publication.
