Seigmen
Vinyl 1992 -1997

Listening notes

Released in 2020 on Karisma Records (catalog number KAR170LP), Vinyl 1992–1997 is a box set from Norwegian alternative rock and rock act Seigmen. The release compiles material spanning the years indicated in its title and is presented across five vinyl records and one CD, running alphabetically from side A through side P across the vinyl component, with the CD designated separately.

The vinyl portion is organized around what appear to be distinct album groupings. The unlabeled header titles — Pluto, Ameneon, Total, Metropolis, and Radiowaves — appear at intervals throughout the tracklist, suggesting the vinyl records correspond to releases or collections sharing those names. Spread across sides A through P, the vinyl tracklist runs to well over forty individual titles, ranging from "Fra X Til Døden" on side A through "Frost-Bite" closing side P.

The accompanying CD is titled Bonus 1990–2005 and contains twelve tracks. The titles of these tracks offer specific descriptive information: "Rosa Boots" is identified as a live recording from Café Mølla in Tønsberg in 1990; "Mesusah" is described as an early version from a rehearsal space identified as Øvingslokalet X, also in Tønsberg; "Intermezzo" is noted as having been made for Dødens Dal in 2005; and several tracks are labeled as demos tied to specific album periods, including Total and Metropolis demos. A raw mix of "Hjernen Er Alene" described as lacking strings is also included, as is a Radiowaves outtake version of "Performance Alpha."

The set's title framing and CD track descriptions indicate an archival intent, drawing on material from outside the standard studio sequence, though the full scope of what is gathered here would require verification against the individual original releases.
