Skepticism
Ordeal

Listening notes

Skepticism's Ordeal, released in 2015 on Svart Records (catalog number SVR389), is a release that warrants attention from collectors for the straightforward reason that it packages the same eight-track program across multiple formats in a single edition. The tracklist — "You," "Momentary," "The Departure," "March Incomplete," "The Road," "Closing Music," "Pouring," and "The March And The Stream" — appears on both the vinyl and DVD components, with the vinyl spread across four sides on two records, following a standard double-LP configuration of A, B, C, and D sides.

The multi-format nature of this release is its most immediately catalogable characteristic. Issued as an All Media package combining vinyl, DVD, and presumably additional components, it represents a physical release strategy that bundles discrete formats rather than treating vinyl as a standalone object. For collectors primarily interested in the vinyl, that context is worth noting before acquisition.

The band, categorized here under Doom Metal, Funeral Doom Metal, and Rock, operates within a genre space where extended, deliberate pacing is typical. The eight-track structure spread across four vinyl sides accommodates that tendency, though no individual track durations are confirmed in the available documentation for this release.

Svart Records, a Finnish label, serves as the issuing body, and the SVR389 catalog number places this within their documented output. Beyond those details, the available verified information does not extend to personnel, pressing specifications, limitations, or variants. Prospective buyers should consult current marketplace listings for condition and completeness, particularly given the multi-format nature of the package, where DVD components may be missing from secondhand copies.
