Stephen Brodsky
Vacation Vinyl Live 2013

Listening notes

Stephen Brodsky's Vacation Vinyl Live 2013 is a live recording released in 2014 on cassette through Cavis Tapes. The release carries no catalog number and is catalogued under the acoustic and rock genres.

The cassette is organized across two sides, with five tracks on the A side and four on the B side, for a total of nine performances. The A side opens with "Here's To The Future" and continues through "Real Surreal Beauty," "The Calypso," "Beautiful Breakup," and "Brighter Fate." The B side moves through "Good Deeds," "Hit Or Mystery," "Lonesome Josephine," and closes with "Gnarcissist." Track durations are not documented for any of the nine performances.

The title places the recording at Vacation Vinyl, a record shop, in 2013, with the cassette following a year later in 2014. In-store performances at independent record retailers occupy a specific and relatively informal corner of live release culture, and this release reflects that context in its format and presentation. The choice of cassette as the medium aligns with the small-run, tactile sensibility that has accompanied the broader cassette revival, though no edition size or pressing details are available in the verified record.

Cavis Tapes serves as the releasing imprint, and no additional personnel, production, or packaging information has been confirmed for this release. The absence of a catalog number is noted.
