Stormtroopers Of Death
Speak English Or Die

Listening notes

Stormtroopers Of Death's *Speak English Or Die* arrived on vinyl through Megaforce Records in 2008, carrying catalog number MEGA 2000V. The release spans twenty-two tracks across two sides, placing it within genres that include hardcore, punk, rock, speed metal, and thrash.

The tracklist divides unevenly between the two sides in ways that reflect the format's physical constraints rather than any obvious thematic arrangement. Side A opens with "March Of The S.O.D." at one minute and thirty seconds and closes with "What's That Noise" at under a minute, fitting ten tracks into the space. Among them, the title track runs two minutes and twenty seconds, making it one of the longer entries on that side. "Anti-Procrastination Song," at three seconds, stands as the briefest cut on the A side.

Side B carries twelve tracks and contains several entries of comparable brevity. "Diamonds And Rust" runs two seconds, "Hey Gordy!" and "Douche Crew" each clock in at five seconds, and "The Ballad Of Jimi Hendrix" at four seconds. The side's longest track is "Pre-Menstrual Princess Blues" at two minutes and thirty-nine seconds, followed by "Freddy Krueger" at two minutes and twenty-nine seconds. Side B closes with "Ram It Up" at one minute and seventeen seconds.

Taken together, the twenty-two tracks have a combined runtime that falls well short of a standard full-length album. The concentration of very short pieces throughout the program is a structural feature any collector or listener should note before approaching this pressing. The record is identified on Megaforce Records under the catalog number MEGA 2000V.
