Tegan and Sara
The Official Vinyl Collection

Listening notes

Tegan and Sara's The Official Vinyl Collection, released on Sire Records in 2010 under catalog number 523558-1, is a substantial box set spanning six LPs across twelve sides. The set draws from five studio albums — This Business Of Art, If It Was You, So Jealous, The Con, and Sainthood — and adds a sixth record, Home Recordings: The Bonus Record, which presents nine demo versions of tracks drawn from across those albums.

The sequencing moves in reverse chronological order, opening with Sainthood across sides A and B before working backward through The Con, So Jealous, If It Was You, and This Business Of Art. The Sainthood portion runs thirteen tracks and includes "Arrow," "Hell," "On Directing," and "Sentimental Tune," among others. The Con sequence, spread across sides C and D, accounts for fourteen tracks, including "Back In Your Head," "Dark Come Soon," and "Call It Off." So Jealous fills sides E and F with fourteen tracks, among them "Where Does The Good Go?," "Walking With A Ghost," and "I Can't Take It." If It Was You occupies sides G and H, running thirteen tracks including "Monday, Monday, Monday" and "Don't Confess (This Thing That Breaks My Heart)." This Business Of Art, the earliest material in the set, accounts for eleven tracks across sides I and J, closing with "Superstar."

The bonus record on sides K and L collects demo versions of nine songs, including "Walking With A Ghost (Demo)," "Back In Your Head (Demo)," and "Dark Come Soon (Demo)," though no durations are listed for any of those tracks.

The genres listed for the set are Acoustic, Alternative Rock, Indie Rock, and Rock. This is an unreviewed draft requiring fact-checker verification before publication.
