Thurston Moore
Another Waste Of Vinyl

Listening notes

Released in 1995 on Dolor Del Estamago (catalog number SA-57), Thurston Moore's *Another Waste Of Vinyl* is a six-sided vinyl release categorized under Alternative Rock, Experimental, and Rock. The format and side count alone signal that this is not a standard album presentation, and the tracklist confirms as much.

The first two sides present what appear to be original Moore compositions. Side A carries the extended title "The Church Should Be For The Outcast, Not A Church That Casts People Out," while Side B is credited to "Thoodblirsty Thesbians." No durations are listed for either track.

Sides C and D shift in character entirely. Both are attributed to MEV, noted as a live performance recorded in Oakland, California on February 11, 1994. The parenthetical "Miscellaneous" designation used in the tracklist suggests these sides occupy a different category within the release's internal logic, though what that distinction means in practice is not specified by the available information.

Sides E and F follow a similar pattern, attributed to 7000 Dying Rats and labeled respectively as Side C and Side D of that act's material, again under the "Miscellaneous" heading. The labeling convention — referencing sides C and D of a separate release within a six-sided record — raises questions about how this material was originally configured and compiled, questions the available data does not answer.

What the data does establish is a release that brings together at least three distinct contributors or acts across six sides, with live and presumably studio or otherwise recorded content mixed across the sequence. The title *Another Waste Of Vinyl* may or may not be self-deprecating; this draft takes no position on that.
