The Joshua Tree Singles Vinyl Collection: 1987 & 2017

Listening notes

Released in 2017 through U2 Dot Com, The Joshua Tree Singles Vinyl Collection: 1987 & 2017 is catalogued as a file-format release with no assigned catalog number. The collection brings together material drawn from four songs associated with The Joshua Tree: "With Or Without You," "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For," "Where The Streets Have No Name," and "In God's Country." Despite the vinyl reference in its title, the release is documented as a digital file format.

The eight-track listing pairs a remastered version of each song with a corresponding live recording captured during the Joshua Tree Tour 2017, offering a straightforward side-by-side structure across all four titles. The remastered versions run at 4:55, 4:37, 5:36, and 2:56 respectively. Their live counterparts clock in at 5:16, 4:11, 6:46, and 3:18, with the live recording of "Where The Streets Have No Name" being the longest individual track on the release at six minutes and forty-six seconds.

The genres listed for the release are Arena Rock, Pop Rock, and Rock. The collection is attributed to the U2 Dot Com label, which has served as a distribution channel for fan-oriented and archival U2 material.

Beyond its tracklist and format documentation, the available facts for this release are limited. Prospective fact-checkers should note that personnel, mastering credits, pressing details, and any broader context regarding the relationship between the 1987 and 2017 recordings have not been verified and are not addressed here. The title's vinyl reference remains unexplained by the available data and warrants further investigation before publication.
