Udo Lindenberg
MTV Unplugged 2 - Live Vom Atlantik (Viermaster-Vinyl-Edition)

Listening notes

Udo Lindenberg's MTV Unplugged 2 - Live Vom Atlantik appeared on vinyl in 2018 through Warner Music Central Europe under catalog number 5054197-0319-5-3. The edition carries the subtitle Viermaster-Vinyl-Edition — a reference to a four-masted sailing vessel — which aligns with the nautical imagery present in several of the set's song titles.

The release spans four double-sided records, covering sides A through H, and presents twenty-seven tracks drawn from the live recording. The program is substantial, ranging from titles that have appeared across Lindenberg's career to entries bearing 2018 designations, among them "Bananenrepublik 2018," "Bist Du Vom KGB 2018," and "König Von Scheißegalien 2018 (Walk On The Wild Side)," suggesting revisited or updated versions of earlier material. The parenthetical on that last title names Lou Reed's "Walk on the Wild Side" as a reference point, though the nature of that relationship within the track is not documented here.

The genres listed for the release are pop and rock, a broad categorization that fits a catalog as long and varied as Lindenberg's. The tracklist itself hints at that range, moving from titles with plainly sentimental or introspective character — "Meine Erste Liebe," "Sandmännchen," "Sternenreise" — to harder-edged ones such as "Cowboy Rocker" and "Rock'n'Roller." No track durations are available in the verified data.

With eight sides of music, this vinyl edition is a significant physical artifact for collectors interested in the format. Beyond the basic facts of label, catalog number, year, and tracklist, further detail about personnel, pressing specifications, or packaging would require independent verification before publication.
