Listening notes

Undergang (2) released *De Syv Stadier Af Fordærv* on Me Saco Un Ojo Records in 2023, catalogued as MSUO148. The record is classified under death metal and rock, and appears on vinyl format.

The album's title translates roughly from Danish as "The Seven Stages of Decay," and the tracklist follows that conceptual framework with a degree of structural consistency. The seven tracks are distributed across two sides, with three on the A side and four on the B side. Running times are brief throughout: no individual track exceeds five minutes, and several fall under two minutes. The longest piece, "Livløs I En Pøl Af Egne Udskillelser (Algor Mortis)," sits at exactly five minutes in the A3 position. The shortest, "Skeletisering," closes the B side at one minute and fifty-one seconds.

Several track titles incorporate Latin terminology in parentheses alongside their Danish primary titles. "Mælkehvid Og Gennemsigtig (Pallor Mortis)," "Livløs I En Pøl Af Egne Udskillelser (Algor Mortis)," "Dødsstivhed (Rigor Mortis)," and "Misfarvning Af Liget (Livor Mortis)" each pair a Danish phrase with a recognized stage of postmortem decomposition. The remaining tracks — "Død," "Forrådnelse," and "Skeletisering" — carry Danish titles without Latin annotation, though their meanings align with the same thematic sequence: death, putrefaction, and skeletonization.

Me Saco Un Ojo Records is the issuing label for this release. The catalog number MSUO148 places this record within that label's documented output.
