Underoath Observatory Vinyl Box Set

Listening notes

Released in 2021 on Tooth & Nail Records, the Underoath Observatory Vinyl Box Set brings together three of the band's albums — They're Only Chasing Safety, Define The Great Line, and Lost In The Sound Of Separation — in a single vinyl package catalogued under UNDEROATH-BOX-SET-S. The set spans eight sides of vinyl across what the tracklist layout confirms as at least four records, with side and track positions assigned across sides A through H.

They're Only Chasing Safety occupies sides A and B, running through ten tracks including "Young And Aspiring," "Reinventing Your Exit," and the closing "Some Will Seek Forgiveness, Others Escape." A brief interlude, "The Blue Note," clocks in at under a minute on side A. Define The Great Line follows across sides C through F, a notably longer album whose final track, "To Whom It May Concern," runs just over seven minutes — the longest individual selection in the set. Lost In The Sound Of Separation fills sides G and H with twelve tracks, among them the extended "Emergency Broadcast :: The End Is Near" at five minutes and forty-four seconds.

In total the box set presents thirty-five tracks across the three records. The genres listed for the release are post-hardcore and rock. The set was issued under the Tooth & Nail Records imprint, which has been the band's longtime label home.
