A Momentary Lapse Of Vinyl

Listening notes

Released in 2015 on Fruits de Mer Records, *A Momentary Lapse Of Vinyl* (catalog number Crustacean 60) is a various artists compilation spanning prog rock, psychedelic rock, and rock. The release is structured across three separately designated components — Momentary One, Momentary Two, and Momentary Three — each formatted as its own discrete vinyl side arrangement.

The tracklist draws exclusively from the Pink Floyd catalog, or more precisely from songs associated with Pink Floyd and Syd Barrett individually. Momentary One covers "Golden Hair" (A1), "Granchester Meadows" (A2), and "Cirrus Minor" (B1). Momentary Two presents "Dark Globe" (A1), "She Took A Long Cold Look" (A2), "See Emily Play" (B1), and "The Gnome" (B2). Momentary Three contains "Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun" (A1) and "The Nile Song" (B1). The source material spans a period of Floyd and Barrett history that encompasses both the Barrett-led and post-Barrett eras of the band, though the compilation makes no distinctions in how it groups these songs across its three parts.

Fruits de Mer Records, a UK-based independent label, has built a catalog around limited-edition vinyl releases focused on psychedelic and progressive rock, frequently presenting cover versions and reinterpretations by contemporary artists. The label operates under the Crustacean catalog prefix series, of which this release is number 60.

Track durations are not listed for any of the included recordings. Personnel information for the contributing artists has not been confirmed from available data and is omitted here accordingly.
