AQ Total Vinyl 05

Listening notes

AQ Total Vinyl 05 is a various artists compilation released by Aquarius Records (2) in 2019, carrying the catalog number LP 08-19. The release appears as a standard vinyl format and draws together nine tracks spanning the label's stated genre interests of Funk / Soul, Latin, Pop, and Rock.

The A-side opens with "Pola Tebi, Pola Meni (D3 Rework)" at just under five minutes, the longest entry on the record, followed by "Libido" and "Romantika," each running just over four minutes. The side closes with "Stranac U Noći (D'knock Remix)," a four-and-a-half-minute track whose remix credit, like the D3 Rework that opens the record, signals that reworked material plays a meaningful role in the compilation's construction.

The B-side carries five tracks and runs somewhat shorter overall. It opens with "Laka Sam (Producers Cut)" at 4:23, another version-specific credit, before moving into the briefest track on the release, "Najlepša," which clocks in at 2:20. The remaining three titles — "Ti, Ja I Muzika (Menage A Trois)," "Autobus Calypso," and "Malena" — each fall in the three-and-a-half-minute range, giving the second side a relatively compact, consistent feel in terms of running time.

The tracklist titles suggest material with roots in the South or Southeast European popular music tradition, though the genre tags indicate the label understood the content as fitting within broader international categories of soul, Latin, pop, and rock programming.

As the fifth entry in the AQ Total Vinyl series, this release continues a numbered sequence under the Aquarius Records (2) imprint. Beyond what the catalog data itself records, further details would require independent verification.
