Disco Diggin': Disco Music Gems From Vinyl Diggers

Listening notes

Released in 2022 on Wagram Music, *Disco Diggin': Disco Music Gems From Vinyl Diggers* is a various artists compilation catalogued as 3419756, issued on vinyl and drawing from the disco and funk/soul genres. The title positions the collection squarely within the crate-digging tradition, framing its ten tracks as selections chosen by dedicated vinyl enthusiasts rather than assembled through conventional archival or commercial channels.

The record's two sides are balanced unevenly in total runtime. Side A opens with "Love Is You" at 5:07 and moves through "Pay The Price" at 4:22, "Gotham City Boogie" at 5:25, "You're So Right for Me" at 3:11, and "I Got My Mind Made Up (You Can Get It Girl)" at 3:19. Side B begins more briefly with "You Don't Know" at 2:46 and "Disco Love" at 3:01 before expanding into longer cuts: "The Dancer" at 5:23, "Foxfire" at 3:22, and the closing track "Keep On" at 6:09. The sequencing places the compilation's longest single track last, giving Side B a gradually building duration that closes on an extended note.

Taken together, the tracklist spans a range of running times, from just under three minutes to just over six, which is consistent with the varied pacing typical of genre compilations that draw on material originally formatted for different contexts. The compilation's title and concept acknowledge vinyl digging as a specific curatorial practice, a point of framing that distinguishes it from reissue projects organized around a single artist or label catalog.

Wagram Music, a French independent label, released the record as a standard vinyl format. Beyond these structural details, the compilation's contents and context would benefit from further research into individual track origins and artist attribution before publication.
