Flying Vinyl: February 2018

Listening notes

Flying Vinyl: February 2018, catalogued as Issue 33 and released in 2018 on Flying Vinyl (2), is a box set collecting ten individual vinyl releases. Each of the ten tracks occupies its own side, labeled A through J, spanning what the format listing describes as multiple vinyl records packaged together. The titles in sequence are "Take It Back," "FUU," "The Painter," "Absent," "Bubblegum," "Gods & Lovers," "Daddy Blue," "OTD," "Loner Boogie," and "Face Behind Her Cigarette."

The release carries genre tags spanning alternative rock, indie pop, indie rock, pop, rock, and surf, suggesting the box set was assembled with deliberate variety across those broadly related but distinct categories. Flying Vinyl operated as a subscription-based service delivering new music on vinyl, and this February 2018 installment represents the thirty-third issue in that series.

No artist credits, track durations, or personnel information are available in the verified data for this release, which limits what can be said with confidence about the individual contributors behind each of the ten tracks. The compilation format — one track per side across multiple seven-inch records, based on the side-per-track structure — was consistent with the Flying Vinyl subscription model, though the precise configuration of records within this specific box set is not confirmed beyond the multi-vinyl, box set designation.

Collectors and researchers working with this release should treat the genre tags and tracklist as the primary confirmed data points currently attached to Issue 33. Any further detail regarding the artists, recording origins, or pressing specifications of this particular box set would require additional sourcing beyond what is presently documented.
