Flying Vinyl: June 2015

Listening notes

Flying Vinyl: June 2015, catalogued as Issue 1 on the Flying Vinyl (2) label, is a vinyl box set released in 2015 spanning genres of Alternative Rock, Indie Rock, and Rock. As the first numbered issue from this label, it represents the inaugural release of what the catalog numbering suggests was intended as a recurring series.

The release is formatted as a multi-disc vinyl box set, with ten tracks spread across sides A through J, indicating five individual records housed within the set. The tracklist includes "Undress Your Soul," "Winter Grade," "North Coast," "Girl Talk," "Misty Maker Stomp," "New Moon," "Junk Food Forever," "Something In The Water," "Savour," and "Fade." Of the ten tracks, duration information is confirmed for two: "Junk Food Forever" runs 3:41 and "Something In The Water" runs 5:04. Durations for the remaining eight tracks are not documented in available data.

The various-artist format places this release within a compilation tradition, though the specific contributing artists are not listed in available documentation. The side-per-track structure, with each of the ten sides carrying a single title, is notable in that it prioritizes generous groove spacing over density, a configuration that vinyl enthusiasts often associate with dedicated single-sided presentation, though no claims about audio outcomes are made here.

As Issue 1, this box set occupies a particular position in the Flying Vinyl (2) catalog as the starting point of the label's documented output. Collectors and researchers working with this label's discography should note that personnel, recording details, and individual artist attributions per track remain unverified at this time and would benefit from supplementary documentation before any definitive reference entry is finalized.
