Flying Vinyl: May 2017

Listening notes

Flying Vinyl: May 2017 is Issue 24 in the ongoing series released by Flying Vinyl, a subscription-based service delivering curated vinyl to its members. This particular box set, catalogued under the Flying Vinyl (2) label, appeared in 2017 and falls within the Indie Rock and Rock genres.

The release takes the form of a multi-disc vinyl box set, with twelve tracks spread across sides designated A through J. The A and B sides share platters in the conventional double-sided configuration, hosting four tracks between them: "Room To Grow," "Sailing," "You Can't Date A Model," and "Peckham." The remaining sides — C through J — each carry a single track, giving the set an unusually spread format across what the listing describes as multiple vinyl discs. Those tracks are "Sissy Fists," "Sass Or Die," "Edge Of Town," "Never Start," "Paperboy," "Tightrope," "Mixed Blessings," and "Kewali."

No artist attributions, track durations, or personnel credits are available in the current documentation for this issue, which limits how thoroughly individual contributions can be discussed. As a various artists compilation, the set would presumably draw from multiple acts working within the Indie Rock and Rock space, consistent with the Flying Vinyl service's stated focus on emerging and independent music, though the specific artists represented here are not confirmed in the available data.

Issue 24 sits within a broader monthly sequence that Flying Vinyl used to deliver exclusive recordings to subscribers, making box sets like this one part of a serialized format rather than a standalone commercial release. Collectors and researchers seeking further detail on personnel or pressing specifics should consult additional documentation before treating this entry as complete.
