Flying Vinyl: September 2017

Listening notes

Flying Vinyl: September 2017 is Issue 28 in the ongoing series released by Flying Vinyl (2), issued in 2017 as a vinyl box set. The release comprises multiple vinyl records and spans ten tracks spread across sides A through J, placing it among the more substantial installments in the subscription-based series format.

The tracklist covers ground across the acoustic, indie rock, and rock genres, reflecting the curatorial range that the Flying Vinyl series built its model around. The ten selections are "In Undertow," "Dreams Tonite," "I'm Gonna Do Well," "Getting Closer," "Future Lover," "Finally (Acoustic)," "Salt Water," "Drink Too Much," "Bloodtype," and "Calculate." The inclusion of an explicitly acoustic version — "Finally (Acoustic)" — suggests at least one track on the set exists in an alternate configuration from an original recording, though no further detail about the source artist or the nature of that alternate version is available from the confirmed data for this release.

Track durations are not documented in the available record for this issue, so the total runtime of the set cannot be stated here and should be confirmed before publication. Similarly, artist attributions for individual tracks are absent from the verified information and would represent a meaningful addition for any collector or researcher consulting this entry.

As a box set format, the September 2017 issue represents a physical artifact consistent with Flying Vinyl's approach of delivering new music directly to subscribers on vinyl. The catalog number Issue 28 places it within a numbered sequence, which may be of organizational interest to collectors completing the series.
