Flying Vinyl Series 01 Issue 03

Listening notes

Flying Vinyl Series 01 Issue 03, released in 2022 on Flying Vinyl (2) under catalog number FVX0003, is a ten-track vinyl compilation spanning the pop and rock genres. The record follows the label's series format, presenting a curated selection of artists across two sides.

Side A opens with "5" before moving to "Sneak Motel (Live)," one of two live recordings included on the release. The remaining A-side tracks are "Bon Iver," "Millennial," and "Glass Half Full Of Tears." Side B runs from "Dead Ideas" through "High Heels (Live)," the second live performance captured here, followed by "The Barbican," "Spectator," and closing track "Real Cowboys Cry."

The inclusion of two live recordings — "Sneak Motel (Live)" and "High Heels (Live)" — is a straightforward point of distinction within the tracklist, suggesting the compilation draws from more than one type of source recording. Beyond that structural observation, the available documentation does not specify individual contributing artists, recording locations, or the circumstances behind any of the tracks.

As the third issue in the first series from Flying Vinyl (2), this release sits within a numbered sequential format that implies an ongoing curatorial project, though the scope and frequency of that project are not detailed in the available information.

Durations are not listed for any of the ten tracks. Collectors and researchers seeking fuller documentation — including artist credits, personnel, and any supplementary liner notes — should consult primary sources or the label directly before treating the above as complete.
