Only On Vinyl 3

Listening notes

Released in 2017 on Cold Busted under catalog number BUSTEDINCHES61, Only On Vinyl 3 is a various artists compilation presented in vinyl format. As the title suggests, this is the third entry in the label's Only On Vinyl series, a detail that positions it within an ongoing curatorial project from Cold Busted rather than as a standalone release.

The compilation spans genres catalogued as Funk / Soul, Hip Hop, Jazz, and Jazzy Hip-Hop, a combination that points to Cold Busted's broadly eclectic approach to beat-oriented music. Whether those genre boundaries hold neatly across the ten tracks is a question the tracklist alone cannot settle, but the listed categories do suggest the label was not treating this as a single-genre document.

The record is divided across two sides, each carrying five tracks. Side A opens with "Runitup" and moves through "Rejoicing Dejection," "Style Classic," "Mode," and "Jr Funk." Side B runs from "Singing This Message" through "Summer Breeze," "Otm," "Open My Mind," and closes with "Jazz Is Good." Track durations are not listed in the available data. Individual artist attributions per track are likewise not present in the verified information and have been omitted here.

Cold Busted is a label with an established catalog in instrumental and beat-driven music, and the Only On Vinyl series name implies releases intended specifically for the format rather than accompanying digital editions, though the nature and scope of any exclusivity is not something the available facts confirm in detail. Prospective buyers and researchers seeking full personnel credits, pressing specifications, or edition details should consult additional documentation before drawing conclusions.
