Panx Vinyl Zine 03

Listening notes

Panx Vinyl Zine 03 is a 1989 vinyl release on Panx Productions, carrying the catalog number PP006. Falling under the genres of hardcore, punk, and rock, it is the third installment in what the label framed as a vinyl zine series — a format that blended the periodical concept of a zine with the physical medium of a record.

The release presents five titled tracks across its two sides. The A-side opens with "We Shall Over Come," followed by "Mop Boy" and "God For Sale," positioned as A1, A2, and A3 respectively. The B-side carries "Mirror" at B4 and "Ballad" at B5. The tracklist also lists two additional entries without standard position designations: "Face Panx" and "Face Pxvz," which may represent side labels or introductory elements rather than conventional tracks, though no further documentation is available here to confirm their exact function.

The vinyl zine format, while not unique to Panx Productions, reflects an approach that was in circulation within underground music communities during the late 1980s, combining the DIY sensibility of zine culture with record distribution. Whether Panx Vinyl Zine 03 was accompanied by printed material, as some vinyl zines of the period were, is not confirmed by the available information.

No personnel, recording location, or pressing details are documented in the verified facts for this release. Duration information for the individual tracks is likewise absent.

As with other entries in the series, this release exists as a document of the hardcore and punk underground in 1989, operating through an independent label structure. Researchers and collectors seeking additional context are encouraged to consult primary sources, as much surrounding this release remains unverified.
