Sonic Adventure Official Soundtrack Vinyl Edition

Listening notes

Released in 2020 on the Brave Wave label under catalog number BW-SGA-001, the Sonic Adventure Official Soundtrack Vinyl Edition presents music from the Sonic Adventure video game across a double-LP format issued as part of an all-media release. The set spans four sides and twenty-two tracks, running from the brief introductory cue that opens Side A through to the main theme, "Open Your Heart," which closes Side D at just over five minutes.

The tracklist is organized around a mix of character themes and stage-specific compositions. Character themes are assigned to Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Big, Dr. Eggman, E-102γ, Tikal, and Chao, while individual stage tracks cover locations including Emerald Coast, Speed Highway, Twinkle Park, Ice Cap, Red Mountain, Casinopolis, Hot Shelter, Sky Deck, and the Egg Carrier. The genres listed for the release — Hip Hop, Pop Rock, Rock, Soundtrack, Stage and Screen, and Video Game Music — reflect the variety of styles represented across the program.

Side A opens with an introduction featuring "Open Your Heart" and moves through Sonic's character theme, "It Doesn't Matter," before presenting stage music for Emerald Coast, Speed Highway, and Twinkle Park. Side B carries Tails' theme alongside stage tracks for Ice Cap, Red Mountain, and Casinopolis, as well as the Eggman and Big character themes. Side C is anchored by Amy's theme, "My Sweet Passion," at just over five minutes, along with themes for Tikal, Knuckles, and Chao. Side D closes the program with the Hot Shelter, Sky Deck, and Egg Carrier tracks before culminating in "Open Your Heart."
