Various
The Vinyl Frontier

Listening notes

The Vinyl Frontier is a various artists compilation released in 1987 on Castle Communications, carrying the catalog number BBPLP 02. The record was issued on vinyl and draws from across the AOR, hard rock, heavy metal, and rock genres, making it a snapshot of the stylistic range those categories encompassed during the mid-to-late 1980s.

The album runs to ten tracks spread evenly across two sides. Side A opens with "Across The Water" and continues through "Without Your Love," "Exciter," "Trying To Forget," and "Inside Out." Side B follows the same five-track structure, presenting "Strangers," "She Walks In Beauty," "Take Me Home," "Don't Hold Back," and "Start It Up." Track durations are not confirmed in available documentation and are therefore not listed here.

Castle Communications was an active British label during this period with a catalog that included compilations across multiple rock-adjacent genres, and BBPLP 02 fits within that output. Beyond the label, catalog number, year of release, format, genre classifications, and the tracklist positions and titles enumerated above, further details regarding the contributing artists, recording origins, personnel, or any production credits are not confirmed by available sources and have been omitted from this draft accordingly.

Researchers or collectors seeking to verify individual track attributions or other release specifics should consult physical sleeve documentation or cross-reference against contemporaneous label discographies, as those details fall outside what can be responsibly stated here.

[UNREVIEWED DRAFT — fact-checker should verify all genre classifications, confirm complete tracklist attribution, and check whether additional pressing or label information is available before publication.]
