Various
The Vinyl Revival

Listening notes

Released in 2019 on Distiller Records, The Vinyl Revival is a various artists compilation catalogued as DTIL109V. Spanning the genres of indie pop, pop, and rock, the record collects eleven tracks across two sides of a standard vinyl release.

Side A opens with "Wrong Side" and moves through "Small Spaces," "Spinning," and "Used To Be Yours" before closing on "If You Remember (Luxxury Remix)," the presence of which indicates at least one track on the compilation exists in a remixed form credited to Luxxury. Side B carries six tracks: "100 Times Over," "Fool Moon," "Reformation (Alt Mix)," "Strangers," "Buzzkiller," and "Take Me For A Ride." The parenthetical designation on "Reformation (Alt Mix)" similarly signals that an alternate version of that recording was selected for inclusion here, though no further context is available from the confirmed details.

The compilation's title is worth noting in relation to its format. Released on vinyl at a moment when the medium had re-established itself as a commercially significant format, The Vinyl Revival makes its chosen format part of its identity in name as well as object. Whether that alignment was conceived as a statement, a marketing decision, or simply a timely piece of nomenclature is not something the available facts can confirm.

Distiller Records, a UK-based independent label, serves as the releasing body, and the catalog number DTIL109V suggests placement within a broader sequence of releases from that imprint. Track durations are not confirmed in the available data and have been omitted accordingly.
