Vinyl Moon Volume 123: Facing Fronts

Listening notes

Vinyl Moon Volume 123: Facing Fronts arrives in 2025 as the latest installment in the label's ongoing series of curated vinyl compilations. Released under the Vinyl Moon imprint, this entry carries the catalog designation Volume 123 and is issued on vinyl format, continuing the label's established practice of presenting collections of contemporary artists under a unifying theme or title.

The compilation draws from the genres of indie pop, pop, and rock, assembling twelve tracks across two sides. The A-side opens with "Becoming You" and moves through "Park Sports," "I've Got Feelings," "back on the apps," "Ontario," and "Sunny World." The B-side follows with "window," "Ahhh," "Love Rhythms," "Breaks Me Down," "Seasons Turning Blue," and closes with "Home." Track durations are not listed.

The title Facing Fronts distinguishes this volume from its predecessors within the numbered series. At 123 volumes, Vinyl Moon has demonstrated a sustained commitment to releasing music in this format, and each volume carries its own title alongside the sequential number. Whether that titling reflects a thematic curatorial approach or functions primarily as a release identifier is not established by the available information.

The tracklist encompasses twelve selections spread evenly across both sides of the record, with the closing track on each side — "Sunny World" on the A-side and "Home" on the B-side — providing natural points of rest within the sequencing. Beyond the titles, artist attributions, and genre classifications on record, further details about the contributing performers or the circumstances of the release are not confirmed in the available documentation.

Collectors and subscribers following the Vinyl Moon series will find Volume 123 a continuation of the label's format in 2025.
